GTHC Predicts, Arsenal away
Think if we get a draw that would be a great result for us, a win however unlikely would be most welcome, a Draw may not be enough to see the mega knicker wetting Gooners calm down, fingers crossed we get a Win!!!!

I am almost thinking that for this season - as new manager Unai Emery gets his feet under the table and imposes his style - Arsenal should not put pressure on themselves to finish in the top four.

They need to develop and, after more than 20 years with the same manager, it is always going to be difficult.

They are trying to play out a little more from the back and all it needs is for one player not to be comfortable doing so for it to be a problem.

If Emery wants to play that way he will have to suffer one or two defeats along the way, but I think ultimately he will get there, partly because he will get the personnel in who can fit that style.

West Ham seriously worry me. They were hopeless defensively in defeat by both Liverpool and Bournemouth. You can sign as many players as you want, but ultimately if you can't defend in the Premier League, you are going to be in trouble.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

The Arsenal chances seem to come from cutbacks from the flanks to a spare man at the penalty spot. If you don't defend that then we will get thrashed.

You must be psychic mate, first goal in a nutshell

2 goal cushion, the GTHC was right even if the scoreline was wrong.

Idris Elba is boring me now, and I'm not believing anything Lawro says until he is reinvented as a Yardie.

Our defence is like tissue paper. It was obvious in preseason. We need to mark up instead of the high line, or we'll get carved up like against Liverpool.
Maybe Oxford can come in and repeat his feats of 2015.

I don’t think we’ll ever win again, unless we sort out our defensive problems.

We will sort out our defensive problems. The only question is how long we take to it.

Where has he said that?

He’s been quite clear in not convoluting the two issues of the mentality of previous seasons and any on going issues with the stadium.

Re: GTHC Predicts, Arsenal away
Depends on team selection, if he selects the slow coaches he picked last week we will be stuffed. Time to give the young ones (Rice, Fredericks etc) a run and start with more of the new signings.

How the hell he can put down the 'stadium mentality from last season' as any sort of excuse when he selects last seasons players is not credible

Pretty much spot on there. When Callum Wilson (Callum fucking Wilson) runs through your team like he's Messi you know you've got serious problems.

I can't see anything other than us shipping another 4+ goals unfortunately. Hope my pessimism proves unfounded but don't see us getting anything here other than a drubbing.

We need one of those massive turn arounds you occasionally see in football. Or a massive slice of luck.

Our only hopes of getting anything out of this.

Arsenal 0 West Ham 1 (Fabianski), Arsenal hitting the woodwork 36 times.

Didn't think Arsenal were that good if you get at them. The Arsenal chances seem to come from cutbacks from the flanks to a spare man at the penalty spot. If you don't defend that then we will get thrashed.

Need better shape and to attack at pace. No over-passing and slowing things down. I think Arsenal commit a lot of players and leave space to counter.

They'd have done Chelsea but for shocking finishing so a 2-0 defeat is about the best we can expect unfortunately.
